Lovell Health House Tour
Experience the Lovell Health House and explore various practices and products at the forefront of alternative wellness, including Zizia Botanicals, Health-Ade Kombucha, Vegetarian Space Station and YOLA Mezcal. The event will also feature a sound bath led by artist Sonja Gerdes, and a presentation by author Lyra Kilston of her groundbreaking book Sun Seekers, a survey of SoCal modernism and alternative healing through design. Meditative stretching and astrological readings are also on the program.
MAK Center Hosts: Ennis and Sowden House Tours + Reception
The MAK Center for Art and Architecture hosted a very special event featuring two iconic Southern California architecture masterpieces: The Ennis House (1924) by Frank Lloyd Wright and the John Sowden House (1926) by Frank Lloyd Wright Jr.

MAK Architecture Tour 2016
For this fall’s architecture tour fundraiser, the MAK Center highlights important lineages of modern architecture in Los Angeles. Each of the featured architects started their careers working for Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, and/or R.M. Schindler (both of whom also worked for Wright). The tour emphasizes the influences at work that made the city’s pre- and post-war architectural scene so groundbreaking.

A Vast Furniture: Nature Walk / Your Guide to Living in the West
The artist and MAK Center staff led a guided walking tour of the Kings Road gardens and landscaping. Looking at a 1932 site plan, they discussed Schindler’s intentions and choices in designing the grounds, and the logic of the preservation process that later followed.
