In Between: Art and Architecture - Part 2

  • Schindler House 835 North Kings Road West Hollywood, CA, 90069 (map)

Continuing the radical experimentation of Austrian emigré architect Rudolf M. Schindler, In Between: Art and Architecture presented contemporary artworks that departed from as well as engaged the spaces, concepts, and history of Schindler’s landmark Kings Road House/Studio. Part two of the exhibition developed the potential of the Schindler House as a space that both generates and is animated by artistic and intellectual activity. Artists invited to create and present works in response to the site included Sam Durant, Julia Fish, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Sharon Lockhart, Stephen Prina, Adrian Schiess, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Christopher Williams.
