The idea behind Home Scenes was to transform the Schindler House into a place that was neither home nor museum but rather a space in flux between the public and private realm. During the week, the house was the site of a dinner, a Christmas party, a performance, several architectural interventions, research and presentations of historic documentation, and several interactive sculptures. Objects and furniture were re-introduced to the space both as a reflection on its now absent domestic function, as well as a practical consideration for the social events of the week. Each day, the space was transformed by the activities of the previous night, providing visitors with a snapshot of the house as a locus of domestic, social and intellectual activity.
