A panel discussion and launch of the Art Los Angeles Reader’s fourth issue: a special collaboration with Mexico City’s Terremoto in honor of Pacific Standard Time LA/LA.

As an enactment and exploration of PST LA/LA, Terremoto and the Art Los Angeles Reader produced a split issue on the theme of “Soñadores.” A reference to the Dream Act, “Soñadores” evokes the communities and processes of exchange that defy borders. It focuses on key contemporary practices and historical cultural production of the Americas–a hemisphere that includes both Latin America and the U.S.

The panel discussion between writers and editors from both Terremoto and the Art Los Angeles Reader brought the exchange that takes place in print to real time. Arden Decker, Gelare Khoshgozaran, Rubén Ortíz-Torres, and Suzy Halajian joined the editors at the panel discussion.

The issue features original contributions by Arden Decker, Alma Ruiz, Anthony Carfello and Brian Mann, Eduardo Abaroa and Rubén Ortíz-Torres, Eunsong Kim and Gelare Khoshgozaran, Joey Terrill, Natalia Mendoza and Miguel Fernández de Castro, and Suzy Halajian as well an original artist project by performance artist Carmina Escobar and visual contribution by Etienne de France.
