Designed in California featured experimental wind-chime constructions in the Mackey Apartments as part of the salon-style programming that åyr is hosting throughout the summer. O’Neill’s work questions perceptions of artifacts and design, found and counterfeit objects, flaws and renovation. The suspicious origins of the works make conceptual connections to amall façade that appears to be an Assyrian palace, a historical renovation of an architecturally significant apartment, and a gated community in Calabasas. Truth and design can be what we make it.
